Costs?
There are NO fees to use the ebaycollection.co.uk site.
The only costs you pay is for the actual delivery cost as agreed between you and the driver.
No booking fee. No site usage fee. No site registration required.
How Long Does It Take?
Collection and delivery usually take place within 1-14 days of booking. This largely depends on how flexible the people at the collection address are. If the people at the collection point are not accomodating and delay collection, this will delay the service you receive.
Courier Companies operate differently from parcel companies because of the sizes of the items carried, therefore deliveries may have a longer timescale than you usually get from a parcel company.
What Areas Can Be Covered?
Collections can be made from Anywhere UK.
Each driver covers various areas.
Some only cover specific locations, other may cover the whole of the UK.
Do I Need to Package the Item?
NO!... It always helps if the item can be wrapped maybe in bubble wrap especially if the item is fragile, delicate, expensive but it is not essential.
Ask the driver if they carry and use Blankets and Straps on the vans to protect and secure your items in transit.
Is my Item Insured?
Ask the driver about what insurance cover is provided.
Most drivers will have Goods in Transit insurance cover.
Most Goods in Transit insurance policies will contain a clause which will mean Fragile or delicate items are carried at your own risk. i.e. glass, mirror, porcelain, etc.
Is it 1 man or 2 on the van?
Deliveries are usually 1 Man, completed by only a Driver although some drivers may offer a 2 man service. If you need a 2 man service please make this clear when asking for a quote.
A (1 Man) Driver Only Service help keep prices as low as possible, an extra man on the van means extra costs which have to be paid for by you, therefore increasing your delivery price.
The driver will require help loading/unloading large or heavy items.
Will The Driver Help me into My Home with the Item?
Most drivers are helpful and friendly. Again, you need to confirm with the driver if he will help move your delivery from the van into your property.
At all times the driver must be able to park his vehicle in a safe, secure and legal position before leaving it unattended to help you with your delivery.
Do I need to make collection and delivery arrangments?
Not usually, the driver will usually make all the arrangements for you. All you have to do is provide the collection and delivery addresses and contact numbers.
Can I choose which day or what time you collect/deliver?
Tell the driver when asking for your quote if you require a specific date or time for collection or delivery.
Quite often collections are made on a groupage basis, any specific demands may increase your quoted price.
Why is the cost of delivery more than the cost of the item?
Pricing is structured to cover running cost as a business.
Whether you have paid £1.00 or £1,000.00 for your ebay purchase this does NOT usually have any bearing on how much is charged for deliveries.
Delivery costs for low value items can be more than the actual purchase cost of the item especially if your item is coming from, or going to, a remote location or the delivery has to be made over a long distance.
Whether you have paid £1 or £1,000 for your item... diesel, insurance, vehicle servicing, maintenance, office costs, drivers wages and tax bill still amounts to the same total.
We recommend you ALWAYS receive a delivery quote before you make your purchase so you can factor all costs together before buying.
There was a problem with the driver!
Any issues are between you and the driver directly.
When booking with a driver make sure you keep a copy of the drivers contact details, number, website etc.
Where possible email the driver with all job addresses, contact numbers, item details and another other relevant information. Make sure you get a reply from the driver confirming your booking and price (check it includes vat if the driver is vat registered). This helps stop any confusion.
We do keep a limited amount of information about each advertised driver but most of it is already included in the driver ads.

NO. We are NOT part of ebay.co.uk or the ebay company in any way. We are an independant business. We provide a list of Courier Service for buyers and sellers who may have purchased/sold large items on ebay.co.uk, other auction sites, stores, private sales, gumtree, etc.
